The "Firepower" Aftermath

It was a hell of a day. The day when an idol morphs into a legend. His countrymen scattered all over the globe are rejoicing, thrilled by this new accomplishment. Something an easterner had never done before, having the whole world acknowledge him when it comes to strength. The Pac-man had done something for the whole Asian community which he's not aware of. From slowly dominating the arena where Asians had been placed in boxing, clearing the path once ruled by names such as Barrera, Morales and Marquez. And now he's done something no Asian had succeeded doing before... Dominating the first level of the Westerner's league. The place adorned by names of great Westerner warriors such as the great Sugar "Ray" Robinson. Pacman shone like a bright star from a distant galaxy that night, winning splendidly and spectacularly. He has proven to all the spectators watching his clash against Miguel Cotto that he is what everybody in his legion knows he is. A hero by nature and a beast in boxing gloves. And now, the 7th title... a dream for most boxers. What a feat!

Now the whole world wants Mayweather. Its either they want to see the Asian soar higher or they just want to shut Mayweather's mouth. Honestly I really don't care whom Pac fights next. I would pick Mosley personally for his record. But why does people want Mayweather anyway? I guess it was Pachater-Mayhater fans really. Those who wants to shut "Pachuggers" wants to pit PBB with Pac so badly and those who hates Mayweather so much wants Pac to shut the Mayweather nation up entirely.

Attitude-wise, I kinda dislike Mayweather Jr. but he's not "Money Mayweather" for nothing. Though it is kinda questionable as to why Mayweather never "crossed swords" to more legitimate welters such as Mosley and Cotto, I still think he earned his record. He's just a little overboard when it comes to his attitude but I understand why his fans loves him so much. Boxing is violent so a "bad-ass" hero is needed as well.

Mayweather-Pacquiao may happen or may never happen at all. From a boxing point of view, Pacquiao's record out matches Mayweather, that is acceptable. So maybe, a fight against Shane Mosley would "maybe" even them a little bit. Of course Mayweather country will have to disagree with that and would love to stomp on Pacman's record, saying that Pac had been knocked out before, defeated before and so on.... But personally, I never saw Pac in any of his fight winning by simple shielding himself. I never saw heard him belittle his enemy, not even once. I never saw him trying to put down "Big Show".... just for a show. Now personally, why "do I" want to see a Mayweather-Pacquiao clash? It was listed above already... :)

Mayweather is the total opposite of Pacquiao in almost all aspect. PBB is an elite, a protected prospect and a legacy of a once shiny boxer, not mentioning that his style is about protecting himself while tiring his enemy. Pacquiao on the other hand is a nobody to somebody... patiently climbing and enduring all the way.... A king hardened by the battles he had fought, a hero who never forgets where he came from....

It makes everyone wonder.... who's stronger? The King who self-proclaims he's the best? Or the King widely accepted as the best? Would it be the King who had his attitude in question or the King with an attitude and charisma loved by many?

The really doesn't lie to whether who gets the biggest money since if this fight is gonna happen, you can have the biggest money a boxing match had ever collected.... Its not really "who calls out who first" either... Since boxing nowadays relies on boxing-fans to stay alive, the fans already demanded it... they want it badly they're willing to do virtually anything...

I'm wondering myself? What's left to hinder the clash of gods? Was it... ego?
